We meet together for church on:

The services are usually about 60 minutes long.
We usually have morning tea after most services, and once a month we have lunch. Everyone is welcome to attend.
When you first arrive, you may hear the band practicing or music playing in the background. People will be talking and greeting each other.
A few minutes before the service starts, there will be a gentle countdown on the overhead screens. This gives everybody a moment to prepare in whatever way they prefer.
There may be a count down to the start of the service.
We begin the service with the musicians leading the church in singing. Song lyrics are projected onto the overhead screens so, if you feel comfortable, you can join in.
There will be prayer, announcements, a short, often interactive children’s message and more singing; the pastor’s message of encouragement and hope; a closing song or two; and prayer, not necessarily in that order.
Prayers will be for each other, our community, our government, and other relevant events.
My experience of Newport is that the people are welcoming, casual, and relaxed. Come as you are and expect to feel welcomed as our guest.
We are a multi-age congregation, and so we sing a wide range of songs from contemporary music to hymns.
We share in communion on the first Sunday of each month. All who attend the service, including children, are welcome to participate respectfully.
We are an inter-generational congregation, and all children are welcome. We don’t have a specific children’s program but there are often activities for them to do. Crafts, word finds and colouring, of course but there are all sorts of other creative activities. Frequently contribute to the service itself. These activities are done in the service under supervision.

We Believe in Keeping Everyone’s Safety
We believe that everybody, including children, should enjoy being at church every single week. At Newport Baptist, we therefore make safety a priority.
